generosity_handsWindhorse Retreat Center is funded solely by the generosity of its friends, program participants and by rentals to groups in keeping with the Shambhala vision of creating enlightened society.

Our building was built in the 1970’s by a visionary group who formed what they refer to as an “unintentional” intentional community, known as High Wind. The “Bioshelter,” constructed using passive solar techniques and materials, was built with a small grant and a ton of sweat equity by the High Wind community. It served them well for decades and, today, serves the Shambhala community in its vision of Meditation, Peace and Sustainability.

Windhorse Retreat Center aspires to expand on the vision of High Wind by improving the building; or, hopefully, developing a new structure to accommodate larger groups.

Your contribution can help us realize this vision. Our small group of recurring donors help immensely in keeping our doors open while we work on developing programming and other revenue sources.
